How Postgame is written and checked
In short
- Postgame collects records from public sources and shows each one as data, with a link to its source. It writes no sentence about a record.
- An article is written by an AI model, the one the article names, and reviewed by a second AI agent. A program checks every quote, figure and date against the source documents and our data before it is published. No person reads an article before it is published.
Sources
Records come from public sources: SEC EDGAR, European annual reports in ESEF, the AMF (France's markets regulator), US state WARN notices, studios' public job pages, Steam, Blizzard, Riot, Apple, SteamTracking, GLEIF and the ECB (see How we collect our data).
What the checks cannot catch
The program checks that a quote is in the source and that a figure or a date comes from the source or from our data. It cannot tell whether a sentence means what its source says, so a sentence can be exact in its figures and still mislead, for instance by telling a loss as a gain. The review agent and the weekly check by a person are there for meaning and direction, and neither is perfect.
How accurate the articles are
On October 14 and 15, 2026, we tested 30 events the system had not seen, a small sample that does not cover every kind of article. The articles stated 283 of the 402 claims an answer key held and 2 of those 283 were wrong (0.7%), and AI agents, not a person, made the key and judged the articles.
On October 21, 2026, a program re-checked all 1,836 published articles against our data as it then stood, and of the 60 that failed, 48 were corrected, 9 were not shown and 3 were left as published.
The weekly check by a person
Each week a person reads 10 published articles chosen at random against their sources, and the results, including every error found, are published here.
The first weekly check is under way.
Corrections
Every revised article is listed in the corrections ledger, and you can report a mistake with the report form or content you believe is illegal with Report content.
