Terms of use
Who we are and what this covers
Postgame is published by SAN (trade name Ithildin Labs); see the legal notice. These terms apply when you use the site, with or without an account. By using it you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.
What Postgame is
An English-language news and data site about the games industry: versions, builds and patch notes; hardware and the technology companies use to make games; companies' filings and results; job listings; layoff notices; and lessons for adults on how games and the business behind them work. Reading it is free. A build, a filing or a layoff notice is shown as data, as its source gives it, with a link to that source and no text of ours. Articles are written by AI agents from those records and checked against them before they are published, and each article says who wrote it. On top of this the Desk lets readers work on our data together.
Our data is not advice
- What we publish comes from public sources: filings with regulators, notices published by public bodies, company sites, game publishers' own pages. Each page names its source. We check what we can, and we can be wrong or out of date. Check the primary source before you rely on a figure, and tell us if something is wrong from the report a mistake page.
- Nothing on Postgame is investment, legal, tax or career advice, or an offer or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. We are not an authorised investment adviser. Do not rely on the site to make a financial decision.
- Market prices are shown by TradingView widgets. They are not our data and we are not responsible for them. Forecasts on the Desk are exercises in calibration: never for money, and never about a share price.
Using the site
Postgame is for adults: you must be at least 18 to create an account. Use the site lawfully. In particular, do not:
- overload the site, or get round its rate limits, access controls or the rules below;
- collect it at scale with automated tools, or republish our content as your own;
- try to reach another person's account or data;
- post anything that breaks the law or another person's rights.
Accounts
An account needs a verified email address and a handle. Handles that could pass for ours (such as "postgame", "staff" or "admin") are not available. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has them; you can end any session from your account page. You can delete your account at any time from the same page; the privacy policy says what that removes. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
The Desk and what readers post
On the Desk readers post notes on slices of our data, cases (a claim with paragraphs that cite records), moves that answer cases, explanations inside desks, forecasts and guesses. The rules, which the site applies when you post:
- Cite our records. Every number you state has to match a record or slice you cite.
- Link only to primary sources: regulators' filings, public bodies' notices, and the companies' own sites.
- Do not give investment advice or write as if you do. Say what the data shows.
- Do not post an email address or a phone number, yours or anyone's.
- Do not name unannounced products from internal codenames.
- Do not post anything illegal, harassing, defamatory, hateful or that infringes someone's rights.
Checks run on every post. A post that fails one is held, and a person reads it before anyone else sees it; you are told which rule it failed. Signed-in readers can report a post, with a reason. Reports count for more from readers who have earned standing in that subject, and a report from a reader with none does not count towards hiding. When enough reports have been made, the post is hidden and a person decides whether it comes back. If the reports are upheld the post stays hidden. If they are overruled they count for less on the next report their author makes. We can also pause all posting for the whole site, for example to stop abuse.
Readers' posts are readers' opinions. They are not our reporting, and they are not checked by us beyond the rules above.
What you post: ownership and licence
You keep the rights in what you post. By posting it you promise that you have the right to, and you give SAN a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, for as long as the rights last, to host, store, reproduce, format, display and distribute it on and through Postgame: on its pages, in links, previews and share cards, and in the feeds and summaries of the site. We use it to run the service and to show your work as you posted it.
You can delete a post you made where the page allows it, and you can delete your account. The licence on what you posted continues only for what has to stay: a case you opened stays on the site, without your handle, because other readers' moves and accepted revisions point to it, and copies in backups leave when those are replaced. The text of your moves and explanations, and the note on your slices, are removed.
Illegal content: how to report it and what we do
Anyone can tell us about content on Postgame they believe is illegal, signed in or not, from the Report content page. A notice should give:
- the exact address (URL) of the content;
- an explanation of why it is illegal;
- your name and email address (not required for content about child sexual abuse); and
- a statement that you believe in good faith that what you say is accurate and complete.
If you give an email address we send you an acknowledgement with a reference. A person reads each notice and decides carefully, without arbitrariness, what to do. If we find the content illegal or against these terms we remove it or disable access to it, and we may restrict the account that posted it. We may disregard notices that are clearly unfounded or abusive.
We apply the same process to a report you make from the Desk. If you think something is illegal, use the Report content page: it is the route the law recognises.
Our moderation, and how to contest it
We moderate with automatic checks on posts, with reports from readers, and with people who read what the checks hold and what reports hide. A person takes every decision to keep a post hidden or to remove it. When we remove content or restrict an account, we tell the person concerned why, on the site or by email. If you disagree, write to contact@postgame.news and say why; a person will look again.
Our content and other sources
The texts, graphics, charts and layout we produce belong to SAN. You may read, share links to, and quote short extracts of them with a link back, for non-commercial use. The facts and records we draw on from public sources stay under their sources' terms. The names of games and companies belong to their owners. Links and widgets from other sites are theirs, with their own terms.
Sponsored content
Sponsored content is identified as such: every sponsored item carries the word "Sponsored". A sponsor never sees, shapes or approves an article, and sponsorship does not change what we publish. The rules a sponsor accepts are on the Advertise page.
Liability
We try to keep the site accurate and running, but we give no guarantee that it is, or that it will be available without interruption. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from relying on the site, from its being unavailable, or from what other readers post. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
Changes and ending
We may change these terms when the site or the law changes. The date at the top is the last revision (October 21, 2026). If a change matters to you, we will tell you before it applies; continuing to use the site afterwards means you accept it. You can stop using the site whenever you like.
Law and courts
French law governs these terms. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and may bring a dispute before the courts of that country. Otherwise the courts of Versailles have jurisdiction. Questions: contact@postgame.news.
