On Jul 17, 2025, LightOn said that its work with ENS Paris-Saclay, a French graduate school, marked the launch of Paradigm Edu, a new offering for higher education and research institutions. According to the release, LightOn was supporting the École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay in deploying its Paradigm platform within a sovereign French cloud environment, on dedicated infrastructure with both computing power and confidential data storage. The school aimed to speed up its exploration and adoption of concrete generative AI use cases across its administrative functions while keeping data secure and confidential. The release gave digital sovereignty as a need: some of the school's projects involved data covered by France's PPST framework, the Protection of the Nation's Scientific and Technical Potential. It added that LightOn's energy-efficient architecture was another key factor in the choice, saying the architecture minimized computing resource use while keeping state-of-the-art performance, an approach it said reduced environmental impact and optimized cost control.5,6,7,8,9
All of the school's administrative departments would use Paradigm, the release said, among them finance, human resources, facilities management, international relations, research support, communications and IT. The initial use cases included AI assistants to ease access to internal procedures, generate summaries, analyze strategic documents and structure meeting notes. The release said further uses were being explored, such as help preparing grant proposals, data analysis and legal monitoring, and, in a second phase, assistants to guide students through administrative tasks.10,11,12
Sylvain Pronteau, the school's deputy director general for strategy, quality and projects, said in the release that Paradigm gave the school a reliable and sovereign solution, compatible with its internal systems and aligned with its environmental values. Igor Carron, LightOn's CEO and co-founder, said the partnership reflected an ambition to make generative AI accessible and useful to French higher education and research. LightOn said its founders came from the French academic world and that it designed solutions for public sector organizations.13,14,15,16,17
