LightOn announced a partnership with Linkup to bring web search to its Paradigm platform on Mar 12, 2026
The release described Linkup as a French startup founded in 2024 that raised $10 million in early 2026.
LightOn, a Paris company founded in 2016 that develops an enterprise AI platform, announced on Mar 12, 2026 a partnership with Linkup, a French startup that specializes in web search for AI applications. As part of the agreement, LightOn said it was integrating Linkup’s technology into Paradigm, its generative AI platform, to add structured and reliable access to online information to the platform’s internal document analysis, on what it called a fully controlled end-to-end European technology stack. LightOn filed the release with the AMF, France’s financial markets regulator, under the label “inside information”, which exists for news that may move a listed company’s share price.1,2,3,4,5
The release said Linkup’s web search was natively embedded into Paradigm and could be activated through a dedicated API key. LightOn said Paradigm users would be able to design agents that query secure internal document repositories, enrich their analyses with real-time web data and operate in environments with high requirements for reliability and traceability. By combining internal data with external information, LightOn said, Paradigm could cover the range of context that advanced enterprise use cases needed, without relying exclusively on non-European search infrastructures. The release framed the partnership around context: it said that, while the market remained largely focused on language models, the real performance of AI systems depended above all on the quality and depth of the context they could use.6,7,8,9,10,11
The release described Linkup as founded in Paris in 2024, with a web search engine designed for AI applications that connects AI agents to qualified online sources through a structured API in place of web scraping. It said the company raised $10 million in early 2026.12,13,14
Igor Carron, LightOn’s chief executive and co-founder, said the partnership reflected a determination to build strategic technology building blocks in Europe, so as to offer organizations a credible and sovereign solution for sensitive AI use cases. Philippe Mizrahi, Linkup’s chief executive and co-founder, said being selected by LightOn, which he described as recognized for its expertise in analyzing sensitive data, was strong validation of Linkup’s technology, and that it confirmed that web search for AI applications requires specialized infrastructure.15,16,17,18,19
The text of the release we hold gives no financial terms for the partnership and no pricing for the web search option. The $10 million figure is the release’s own statement about Linkup, and the text we hold names no investor.20,14
