Nacon said a court extended its reorganisation observation period to Sep 2, 2026; subsidiary Midgar Studio filed a declaration of insolvency
The court also extended the observation periods of studios Cyanide and Kylotonn to Sep 30, 2026; Midgar Studio filed its declaration on May 26 and asked the court to open reorganisation proceedings for it.
Nacon said on May 27, 2026 that a court had extended until Sep 2, 2026 the observation period of its judicial reorganisation, the stage of French proceedings during which debts from before the case opened are frozen. The Commercial Court of Lille Métropole opened the proceedings by an order of Mar 2, 2026, and ruled on the extension in a judgment dated Apr 29, 2026. The release said an observation period can last up to 18 months, and that during it the company may propose a continuation plan to restructure its debt. Nacon said it was still working on a recovery plan that included a restructuring of its liabilities, to be put to a vote of its creditors, grouped into classes, and then to the court.1,2,3,4,5
The court also extended the observation periods of two Nacon subsidiaries, the development studios Cyanide and Kylotonn, until Sep 30, 2026, by judgments dated Apr 29, 2026. Both studios had been in reorganisation proceedings since Mar 30, 2026. Another subsidiary, the development studio Midgar Studio, filed a declaration of insolvency on May 26, 2026 and asked the court to open reorganisation proceedings for it. Nacon said it would keep the market informed as its situation evolved and the proceedings progressed.6,7,8
Nacon described itself as a BIGBEN group company established in 2019, with 16 development studios, AA video game publishing and premium gaming peripherals. It gave its headcount as more than 1000 employees and counted 23 subsidiaries.9,10
