Alibaba Group's Cloud Intelligence Group reported revenue of RMB33,398 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, up 26% from RMB26,549 million in the same quarter of 2024, the company said on Aug 29, 2025. It gave the results in a press release furnished with a Form 6-K, the report a foreign company files with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The unit's figure is its segment revenue, which the release's table lists before an inter-segment elimination that is deducted to reach group revenue, so it can include sales to other Alibaba units.12345

In the cloud section of the release, Alibaba said the growth in the unit's revenue excluding Alibaba-consolidated subsidiaries also accelerated to 26%, driven mainly by public cloud revenue growth, including the increasing adoption of AI-related products. AI-related product revenue kept up triple-digit year-over-year growth for the eighth consecutive quarter, it said. Chief Executive Officer Eddie Wu said that, driven by robust AI demand, the cloud unit had seen accelerated revenue growth and that AI-related product revenue was a significant portion of revenue from external customers. The unit's adjusted EBITA, a non-GAAP measure, rose 26% to RMB2,954 million from RMB2,337 million, which the company tied to public cloud revenue growth and better operating efficiency, partly offset by higher investment in customer growth and technology.678910

For the whole group, free cash flow, a non-GAAP measure of liquidity, was an outflow of RMB18,815 million against an inflow of RMB17,372 million a year earlier, mainly because of higher cloud infrastructure spending and the investment in the Taobao Instant Commerce service, the company said. At the time, the company said it would continue to invest in its cloud business in anticipation of customer growth and technology innovation, including AI products and services.1112

Group revenue was RMB247,652 million, up 2% from RMB243,236 million in the same quarter of 2024. Alibaba said revenue would have grown 10% on a like-for-like basis excluding the disposed Sun Art and Intime businesses. Income from operations was RMB34,988 million, down 3% from RMB35,989 million, and adjusted EBITA, which the company reports as a non-GAAP measure, fell 14% to RMB38,844 million from RMB45,035 million, mainly because of the investment in Taobao Instant Commerce, as well as user experiences, user acquisition and technology.13141510

Net income was RMB42,382 million against RMB24,022 million a year earlier, up 76%, which Alibaba tied mainly to mark-to-market changes on its equity investments and a gain from the disposal of Trendyol's local consumer service business. Net income attributable to ordinary shareholders was RMB43,116 million. Non-GAAP net income, which leaves out non-cash share-based compensation, gains and losses on investments, impairment of goodwill and intangible assets and certain other items, was RMB33,510 million, down 18% from RMB40,691 million.16171819
