Unity Technologies, which offers tools to develop, deploy and grow games, reported revenue of $470.6 million for the quarter ended Sep 30, 2025, up 5.4% from $446.5 million in the same quarter a year earlier. The figures are in a Form 10-Q, the quarterly report a US-listed company files with the Securities and Exchange Commission, which Unity filed on Nov 5, 2025. In its earnings release, Unity said third-quarter results exceeded expectations on both revenue and adjusted EBITDA.1234567

Grow Solutions, which earns mainly from monetization tools and game publishing services, brought in $318.3 million in the quarter, up 6.4%. Unity said the rise came from moving one of its advertising networks, the Unity Ad Network, onto a new AI platform it called Unity Vector. Create Solutions, mostly subscriptions to its tools plus support and services, brought in $152.4 million, up 3.4%. Unity said subscription revenue rose while consumption services revenue fell, a decline it attributed to its portfolio reset.89101112131415

For the quarter, the operating loss was $125.9 million, against $127.1 million a year earlier, and the diluted loss per share was $0.30, against $0.31. Including the share of other holders in Unity's subsidiaries, the net loss of the whole group was $126.8 million, against $124.5 million. Unity said research and development expense rose mainly on higher amortization, after it shortened the expected life of certain intangible assets, mostly from its Wētā FX Limited acquisition, which added $39 million of amortization expense in the quarter. Across the first nine months of 2025, Unity recorded about $23 million of employee separation costs and $16 million of non-employee charges from cuts to its workforce and office space.161718192021222324

Unity's own measure, adjusted EBITDA, was $109 million for the quarter, a margin of 23%, against $92 million a year earlier. The company defined it as net income or loss excluding stock-based compensation, amortization of acquired intangible assets, depreciation, restructuring, interest, income tax and other non-operating items, so it is not a figure under US accounting rules (GAAP). Free cash flow, another measure Unity defined for itself as cash from operating activities less purchases of property and equipment, was $151 million for the quarter, against $115 million. In its release of Nov 5, 2025, Unity said it expected fourth-quarter revenue of $480 million to $490 million and adjusted EBITDA of $110 million to $115 million.2526272829306

Revenue was $544.2 million in the quarter ended Sep 30, 2023, and Unity said it began resetting its product and service offerings in the fourth quarter of 2023 to focus on its core businesses.
