Playtika's 2024 revenue fell 0.7% to $2.55 billion; net income fell 31% to $162.2 million

Playtika, a developer of mobile games, bought SuperPlay in November 2024, in a year when social casino revenue fell by about $120 million.

Revenue$2.55 billion
Operating income$391.6 million
Net income$162.2 million
Year endedDec 31, 2024

Playtika reported revenue of $2.55 billion for 2024, down 0.7% from $2.57 billion a year earlier, in its annual report on Form 10-K (the yearly filing that US-listed companies make with the SEC), filed Feb 27, 2025. Operating income was $391.6 million against $501.6 million, and net income was $162.2 million against $235 million. Diluted earnings per share were $0.44 against $0.64.1234567891011

Management says social casino revenue fell by about $120 million, which, along with declines in several casual games, it attributes largely to reduced monetization. SuperPlay Ltd., bought in 2024, and a full year of Youda Games and InnPlay Labs, bought in 2023, partly offset those declines. Playtika completed the SuperPlay purchase on Nov 20, 2024, with $700 million payable at closing, subject to post-closing adjustments, and earnout payments (extra sums that depend on later results) of up to $1.25 billion, based on SuperPlay's gross revenue growth and Adjusted EBITDA in 2025, 2026 and 2027. From the closing to Dec 31, 2024, SuperPlay added $47.6 million of revenue and $8.8 million of net loss, the notes say.1213141516

Sales and marketing expenses rose $119.3 million in 2024, which management ties mainly to about $112.1 million of extra media spend, relating predominantly to SuperPlay, a full year of Youda Games and more spending on Bingo Blitz and Slotomania. In 2024, revenue through Playtika's own Direct-to-Consumer platforms rose to $694.2 million from $639.4 million, while revenue through third-party platforms fell to $1.86 billion from $1.93 billion. Payment processing fees and other related expenses on its own platforms are typically 3-4%, against a 30% platform fee on third-party platforms, management says. It also booked impairment charges in 2024 of $29.9 million on the Redecor game title, which kept performing below expectations, and $36.3 million on certain investments in unconsolidated affiliates.1718192021

Credit Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure (outside US accounting rules) defined by Playtika's credit agreement that leaves out interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, impairment charges, stock-based compensation, contingent consideration, acquisition expenses and certain other items, was $757.7 million for the year, against $832.2 million a year earlier. Cash and cash equivalents fell to $565.8 million at the end of 2024 from $1,029.7 million a year earlier, and Playtika said it was evaluating financing alternatives because its revolving credit facility, with $600 million of additional borrowing capacity, matures in 2026. In the earnings release, chief executive Robert Antokol said the company's progress on its return to growth strategy was highlighted by the SuperPlay acquisition, and chief financial officer Craig Abrahams said it expected the year ahead to be transitional as it invests in newly acquired studios in their early stages.22232425262728
