Playtika Holding Corp. announced on Jan 14, 2026 a reduction in workforce that included cutting about 15% of its current employees in the first quarter of 2026. The company estimated the cost at about $12 million to $15 million, mostly severance, notice-period pay in applicable jurisdictions, benefits and related costs. It said it expected the actions to be substantially complete during the first quarter of 2026, subject to local law. Playtika reported the plan in an 8-K, the filing a US-listed company makes when something material happens, under item 2.05 (costs of exit or disposal activities) and item 7.01 (a public disclosure under Regulation FD, here an email to employees).1234

The company described the cut as part of a larger adjustment to its cost structure and a reallocation of resources within its portfolio of games. In an email to employees that Chief Executive Robert Antokol sent the same day, furnished with the filing, he wrote that the company's studios played distinct roles and sorted its titles into groups: growth titles, to invest in aggressively; casual leaders, to protect and extend leadership in franchises that define their categories; social casino titles, to maximize lifetime value from existing franchises; and titles without a clear path, to stop investing capital and talent in. He wrote that the company could not afford to resource mature titles at historical levels while it tried to build a new future, and that right-sizing its investments across the portfolio unlocked the resources to fund its high potential growth games. He also said the company was moving from headcount-heavy operations to streamlined teams powered by AI and automation, and he pointed to SuperPlay and new titles as a way to fuel growth.15678910

In the 8-K, Playtika said it expected the plan to bring operating expense efficiencies but anticipated reinvesting a substantial portion of the savings in growth initiatives, so the effect on overall profitability would depend on the timing and scope of that spending. The company added that its cost estimates and timing rested on assumptions, and that actual amounts and timing might differ materially.1112

The 8-K stated the reduction as a percentage of employees. WARN notices are the layoff notices that US states require of employers. In the states whose notices we collect, we hold none for Playtika and the companies we track under it in the 12 months to the end of Oct 19, 2026 (UTC), counting what we held by then.113
