On Apr 30, 2025, a post in the Steam announcements of Baldur's Gate 3 announced Hotfix #30, a small hotfix with multiple cross-play fixes and fixes for some instances of crashing. The post said Patch 8 was the last major patch for the game and that small hotfixes addressing bugs would continue to be released. Its cross-play list included a timeout that brought players back to the main menu when an attempt to join a cross-play game failed, and username character limits made consistent across platforms.
